Quinta da Boavista

Dão

Overseeing 13 hectares of vineyards in the Dão region of Portugal, João Tavares de Pina creates a range of Portugeuse natural wines with indigneous grapes, in the depths of a beautiful granite valley. Surrounded by forests and clay, his vines sit at 500m, located in Penalva de Castelo.

Since 2013 João has found ways to experiment with lesser-known Portugeuse grapes such as Terrantez, Uva dog, Arinto, Rufete, Bastardo, under the label Rufia (which translates to “Badass”)
